TG4 did a show on it. It's an Irish speaking channel but it had subtitles. I'm sorry, just can't remember the name of it. I don't know what this current president columbia has is like but you have to remember that the people who were ran off there lands started the guerilla group FARC. These people did not wake up one morning and decide to go and fight there goverment for no apparant reason. The FARC is made up of people who were driven off there land.
Where is Xena!!
@MacMaraScott And as for your vulgar comment on my profile, I expect nothing less from someone of your lowly calibre.
@MacMaraScott I always find it amusing that people like you are so desperate to try legitimize your hatred of islam by talking about "muslim history" or your narrow and useless interpretation of "current events" in order to be politically correct. If you're going to be a ignorant bigot then theres no need to hide it.
@MacMaraScott Thanks for clearly illustrating the point I was making in my previous comment.
@MacMaraScott Well as you can see nobody is making sweeping borderline-racist generalizations about colombians, or spewing ridiculous hatred about their religious beliefs and thus completely detracting from the actual subject of the video.
What Irish T.V station did the segment? I would love to see it. There was a general feeling in Colombia that Santos would continue to hunt down the guerillas when he was elected. I hope that is the case...it would be a shame if the gov't was actually supporting them.

Al Jazeera seems to be the most unbiased of the news networks I could find. In the middle east they have a reputation for being run by Israel, in the US they are considered anti-american. That leads me to believe everyone thinks they are biased in the other guy's favor, and that means less biased.
If I am wrong, please list off your preferred news sources (english language) so I may find unbiased news.
Disappointed Al Jazeera didn't go into more detail on this report and point out these paramilitaries are funded by the Colombian government and Multinational corporations. Not to mention US military involvement in helping train these paramilitaries at the School of the Americas....
@MacMaraScott It prevents comments because people post stupid non constructive comments on those videos.
watch AljazeeraE. and wikileaks.. ill bet they will play a major role in the next incoming war. with some fraudulent report for sure.
The govt kills more of its people to take their land and natural resources. Owning land nearby or on natural resources is a death sentence.
i´ve learned more from the comments than from the report itself....shameful

Al Jazeera should have given some background info as to who these right wing groups are. Must we rely on the postings of others to get the background info? Still, the fact that Al Jazeera reported it at all is more than most media outlets have done.
Fuck, I love bananas. This sucks.
Colombia is a country awash with many natural resources, oil, gas, gold, so most of these people who are being run off their land are sitting on huge wealth. The paramilitaries come in and force them to sign over the deeds of the land for more or less nothing. Google columbia, gas, oil, gold.
Well then why dont you try and refute his statement instead of hurling unwarranted insults at him like a child.
LOL! You're such a moron. Got any other funny vids?
thats why they want to disarm the citizens. so they can be vulnerable victims&needy for the govts, that wont help them anyways. If people are armed, nobody dares enter their land. they join together and defend their property. but we outlaw guns. and only the govt. and outlaws then have them. and the people become caught up in the crossfire, sometimes a staged crossfire..lol. I think we are witnessing the ushering in of a new age of corporate slavery, that wants all the LAND.
to speak up and out, in other parts of the world. The truth is this is going on everywhere to various degrees, and sometimes even unnoticeable by the victims themselves(mortgages, debt interest etc.), its just so obvious in these cases. You say the govt.&MNC's are behind this. Are the developing the land now, or saving it for future dates, like 10,20, yrs. later? Otherwise, what would paramilitaries want w/this land? sell it? if u know where more info is..?
thanks
peace/paz/salam
Mercenary armies are a growing threat all around the world.
I'm sorry, are you Colombian? If you're not then you clearly don't know two shits about my country, yet another ignorant fuck, you should be lined up against a wall and shot. |
