Ehh, maybe. But fairness would involve them not getting any foreign aid. I suppose it depends greatly on what you define fair as - which doesn't seem to be a real definition.

Great documentary

The world should be fair to Africa

Glad that I took time to watch this documentary. I know very little about what is going on in this part of the world.

I pray for the eventual emancipation of the Africans. We in the western world have so much to be thankful for. Let us pray for them and give as much as we can.

I was referring to Western Europe, sorry I didn't make that clear. As to the other nations of "the Americas": yes, their wealth was built from slavery as well- but only after the Western Europeans, the "conquistadors" had wiped out their native populations. It is the most powerful countries which profitted the most from and had the most invested in the slave trade.

that simply giving money will be the solution. Did you even watch this video? Easy ideas, such as donating clothes or giving large sums of, are not solutions.

Rather than point out countries that benefitted from slavery, you only mention powerful Western nations. Eastern European nations had few to no interests in Africa. And when you say America, how about every other country in the Americas that has a significant black population nowadays? From Brazil to the Caribbean, there are plenty of other countries that built themselves on the blood, sweat, and tears of imported Africans. I'm not even going to point out the absurdity of your notion

"Our debt to them is bigger than theirs to us." You're absolutely right. "Foreign aid" should more accurately be called "reparations"- for colonialism, slavery and genocide. America and the European nations should pay reparations to Africa- and not just paltry half-percentages of their budgets, but substantial sums of money such as Germany had to pay to Israel.

"Neoliberalism" has amounted to nothing but a code word for neocolonialism. corporations are continuing what colonists started. The free market is a theory that no one has figured out how to apply without disastrous implications; this is only natural for an ideology that places "profit" above people.

Read the book "Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins who went into countries the World Bank and their cronies wanted to rape and pilage for their natural resources and ultimate control. It's a big set-up for these countries and is being done to ALL 3rd world countries.

So sad to see a country in this state. Raped by all manner of other countries and left to waste.

24:00 shows someone idea of 'Help' . What are some things you might suggest that could truly help ?

so true , if fact the cloths they get are actually sort of 3rd hand . Goodwill, Salvation army..etc usually rack them for a few months for us to buy before shipping them abroad . That said, there is indeed a growing trend of us Here in the West realizing the value of 'Used' stuff. Craigslist is a shining example. 1 mans trash...

hmm sad

africans were forced to leave their countries to work as slaves in more developed ones, they were exploited, suffered the powerfull empires of (not so)old commited an act of atrocity, humans enslaving humans They helped built many countries, most in American continent but also Europe and others that I dont know about

I wrote all this but I know that humanitarian problems are difficult to be solved as the main ppl involved dont make a profit out of this, it is an inconvinience to all those politics who answers only to their local lobbies in hopes that he gets re-elected. All comes to money and no one wants to be the giving one fact is, our debt to them is bigger than theirs to us and we are not paying

the ppl deciding their fate sit behind desks in a faraway place that in no way remembers the hard reality africans are facing - do they know what is good for them? Ok, then make advices, not rules - as this video showed, the external dedt is killing most african countries, tying their legs. They have a debt and we have a debt to them also, isnt that a drawn?

nothing can erase or forgive what was done to Jewish ppl, but humanity tried to make up, giving a country they could call their own Well, if we cant give africans a physical country as they obviously already have one, why not REALLY try to help them?

I remember....no, I know that.... ...the citizens of the country now know as Israel, were once persecuted and executed because the rulers tought they had the right to do so as they were superior within the Human race Didnt the elite english, spanish, portuguese, brazilian, american and others do the same? Choose ones destiny based on his own sense of superiodity?

Write to your government; United States has the most voting power of all...the IMF International Monetary Fund...the World Bank...if you want it to change...MOVE!!!! MOVEMENT FOR YOUR PEOPLE!!!! Educate yourself...educate your family...your friends..your people...

such a simple piece of clothing that tells an amazing story...
